-Demonstrate how to create a work of fiction using the fictional story outline
-Story ideas: The Pumpkin Who was Afraid of the Dark, The Naughty Apple Tree, Adventures of the Invisible Boy/Girl
-once chose story, model how to create the main idea
-main characters and their traits, setting
-turn and tell a partner what you have so far and how you want the story to go

-create a story title and fill out fictional outline for your story

-Students will share some of their outlines
-remind them that as third graders it is important that they can write many different types of literature and they will be tested on each. Expected to produce a quality piece of fictional literature from this outline, it is a tool but is not sufficient. Remind them that having a main idea, characters, settings, and a lead are always important in pieces of literature.
